Abstract: (380 Views)
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to determine and map the co-authorship of scientific production of researchers at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, from 1983 to 2024.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using a quantitative scientometric approach. The research population includes all scientific productions of researchers at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, in the Web of Science citation database between 1983 and 2024. To collect research data, an advanced search of the Web of Science database was conducted, and the search was limited to the name of the university. Articles from different fields were separated using the subject groups of the Web of Science database.
Results: The network density index was 64 percent, indicating the relative cohesion of the network. The clustering coefficient value is 0.72, indicating a relatively high tendency to form new clusters. The average distance index was 2.415; therefore, it can be claimed that the information transfer flow in this network was almost undesirable. The diameter of this network is seven, which indicates that the communication speed in this network is relatively undesirable.
Discussion: In the Web of Science citation database evaluations, the current status of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, was not observed under a single name or main organization of the unit. This has led to a sharp drop in university rankings in this database.
