Aim: One of the most commonly used methods for evaluating the academic activities of a university is the scientometrics that is possible using databases. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of investigating the scientific production of researchers affiliated with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences with emphasis on national and international contributions using ISI data for 2010-2017.
Methods: This is a descriptive-applied study with using scientometric methods. Data were selected via searching ISI and research society of the study was 6555 records. Citespace and VOSviewer software were used to draw maps and Excel software was used to analyze the data.
Results: The findings showed that the researchers of this university are among the most prolific researchers and have the greatest relationship with each other, and the internationally-acclaimed university has had the largest participation with Thomson Jefferson University, and Iran and Russia are among the most influential countries in the national communication network in the scientific products of the University of Medical Sciences And Iran is more willing to engage with the United States, Canada and Australia. Most of the products are also published in English and published in the Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal. The subject of "General Public Medicine" was the most studied.
Conclusion: Collaboration in a joint compilation between the authors of the university and writers abroad is of an acceptable size. In general, the scientific production and scientific cooperation of researchers affiliated with this university has been growing. Identifying top authors will help in this upward trend.
