Objective Information sharing plays an important role in the development of universities. It is a strategic investment that is done by academic libraries. This scientometric study aims to provide a scientific map of library information sharing in the Web of Science database from 1990 to 2022.
Methods This is a quantitative study using the scientometrics approach. The data were collected from the Web of Science database. The study population consists of all papers in the field of library information sharing in the Web of Science from 1990 to 2022. Using the related keywords, 1056 records were yielded which underwent scientific analysis and visualization in Excel and VOS Viewer software, version 1.6.19.
Results The number of related papers had an upward trend which reached from one paper in 1990 to 1056 papers in 2022. Most of them were research articles, published in English by authors from the US. The author with the highest contribution was Abdullah Abrizah with 5 papers. The journal “Evidence Based Library and Information Practice” was the journal with the highest number of papers in academic library information sharing (n=53).
Conclusion This study, by providing a scientific map of library information sharing in the Web of Science, can be helpful for researchers.
