Abstract

Aim:The purpose of  the present study was to construct and validate the health information needs of families of children with cancer in Iran.
Methods: The current study used Correlation method (exploratory analysis using principal components analysis method). The statistical population of this study was a total of 729 families of cancer patients referring to Isfahan Seyyed-Al-Shohada (Omid) Hospital from April to September 2018. Based on the Cochran formula, 244 individuals were selected through purposive sampling based on which including and excluding criteria were chosen.
Results: The factor analysis (principal components analysis) and Varimax rotation showed four factors, 1) access, presentation and exchange of related health information; 2) provision of cancer related information by the medical staff; 3) health and counseling facilities and services; and 4) Social, economic, and spiritual supports. Totally 56.57% of the variance of the questionnaire items was explained by theses four factors. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients derived from the exploratory factor structure for the whole questionnaire were 0.96.
Conclusion: Considering the reliability of the questionnaire, it can be used as a reliable and valid tool in the health system to identifying and meeting the information needs of the families of children with cancer.

Abstract

Background and Purpose: Given the Covid-19 and immediate investment in providing virtual university education, it is important to measure the performance of faculty members in this area. Accordingly, this study was conducted to design and psychometrics of a questionnaire to assess the performance of faculty members in providing virtual training.
Material and Methods: A descriptive study of instrument making was performed on 161 members of the faculty of medical universities in 1400. Sampling was done in an accessible way and through a virtual link by sending e-mail to academic address professors in education vice chancellor system of universities. Formal validity, content validity (CVR, CVI), criterion validity (convergent and divergent), heuristic factor analysis and reliability were measured by Cronbach's alpha method and halving. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, Student t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to report the data.
Results: The findings of this study indicate an acceptable formal, content, and criterion validity. The findings identified four factors, including incentive creation, participation and regulation, learning assessment, and professional skills, which together explained 65.18% of the common variance. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was calculated by Cronbach's alpha method of 0.897 and Guttman coefficient in the halving method was calculated to be 0.873.
Conclusion: Due to the acceptable validity and reliability of the questionnaire, this tool can be used for faculty members in providing virtual training by educational evaluation systems, as well as researchers to measure the effective factors or improve the performance of professors in providing virtual training.

Abstract

Objective: One of the major challenges in the implementation of the Picture Archiving And Communication System (PACS) is the attitudes of physicians towards the system. This study aims to design and assess the psychometric properties of a questionnaire for identifying the factors affecting the acceptance and use of PACS in Iran based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and use of Technology (UTAUT).
Methods: This methodological study with cross-sectional design was conducted with the participation of 400 physicians working in hospitals affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in 2019. Physicians were selected by stratified random sampling method with the probability proportional to size procedure.  The questionnaire’s face validity, content validity, construct validity with exploratory factor analysis (EFA), test-retest reliability with intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and internal consistency with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, were determined. The data were analyzed in SPSS.
Results: The face validity was 1.51-3.4 and the content validity index and content validity ratio ranged 0.6-1 in all factors. Twelve factors including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, computer self-efficiency, behavioral intention, technology optimism, problem solving, rationalized decision-making, horizontal integration, vertical integration, and presentation of health services to clients were extracted by conducting EFA, which explained 67.86% of the common variance. Cronbach’s alpha was obtained 0.92 and the ICC was 0.86 .
Conclusion: The designed questionnaire has good validity and reliability. It is recommended as a valid tool to evaluate the factors affecting the acceptance and use of PACS in Iran.
