Objective: The COVID-19 disease has led to psychological challenges for health care providers. This study aims to investigate the satisfaction of employees working in the headquarter of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) with the COVID-19 emergency support packages.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed on 311 employees of the SUMS headquarter who were selected using a stratified random sampling method in 2021. Data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test, t-test, and ANOVA) in SPSS v. 23 software at a significance level of 0.05.
Results: The mean total satisfaction level of employees was 118.57±19 19.83 (out of 200). Their mean satisfaction with the support packages at individual/family and organizational levels were 54.29±10.35 and 64.28 86±12.86 (out of 100), respectively. There was a statistically significant relationship between employees' satisfaction and their work experience (P=0.04), gender (P=0.03), and workplace (P= 0.01).
Conclusion; The satisfaction of SUMS headquarter staff with the COVID-19 emergency support packages is at a moderate level. Planning is recommended to increase their satisfaction by developing and improving the support packages at individual, family and organizational levels.
