objective: Osteoarthritis is a progressive chronic disease that can be effectively managed and controlled through conservative non-surgical interventions, including exercise, weight management, and education. The success of these interventions relies on sufficient and comprehensive awareness and management methods by at-risk individuals and patients. Recognizing the needs of individuals can increase awareness in this regard. The aim of study was identifying the informational needs required for managing osteoarthritis. 

Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, to extract the informational needs required for managing osteoarthritis, relevant studies and websites were reviewed to identify the informational needs, and in the second phase, the needs identified were confirmed, finalized, and categorized by obtaining the opinions of experts. 

Results: A total of 236 raw informational needs were identified and categorized into 5 groups: prevention of arthritis, diagnosis of arthritis, treatment of arthritis, rehabilitation, and general issues related to arthritis. 

Conclusion: Identifying and categorizing valid information for managing osteoarthritis facilitates the enhancement of awareness among at-risk individuals, affected patients, and their families. The classification provided regarding individuals' informational needs for managing osteoarthritis, which is the final output of this study, facilitates access to credible information for individuals.
